SLEAZEFEST!!!
*Start Drumroll*Yes. It’s almost time for another edition of the mighty SLEAZEFEST. My friends of zZz managed to put a great bill of bands together. Next Saturday, Plekk in Amsterdam will be the stage for another execution with bands like: PowerSolo, King Automatic, Steal Shit Do Drugs and my favorites Charlie and the Lesbians.Sleazefest started in the summer of 1999, on a farm close to Amsterdam, where a guy arranged a bbq for his friends and wanted to jam with the two bands he played in. Someone got word of it and asked if he could play with his band too… and another one… and another one..till the bill was full. 8 bands rocked till dawn the next morning. Cheap booze, various stimulants, and sleazy rock’n’roll were celebrated till late in the afternoon the next day.A tradition was born. Since then I’ve been to almost all editions as a visitor or playing shows myself. I’ve shared stage with the best bands around (the holy SAINTS and the Black Lips), got terribly drunk and discovered dozens of great bands I had never heard of.So see you next saturday. JERRY MAGUIRE VIDEO STORE CLOSING PARTY
Finished out my weekend by checking out the closing night party at the Jerry Maguire Video Store installation put on by Everything Is Terrible. They basically created a video store (remember those?) that was stocked only with VHS tapes of the 1996 classic, Jerry Maguire. EIT gathered its substantial stash by reaching out to people and asking them to send in their copies of the VHS (lovingly referred to as “Jerrys”) and contribute towards the project.Read more

VIVA DA VEGAS
My crew and I just completed the largest art mural in Las Vegas on the side of the Plaza Hotel & Casino. The title of the mural is “Cultivate Harmony” and the imagery is meant to have decorative appeal, but also to remind people that peace and harmony with each other and the planet itself are the only way to maintain what sustains us.Read more

FAR BAZAAR 2017
Last weekend I attended FAR Bazaar 2017, a huge alternative art af(fair) and festival put on by the Cerritos College in partnership with the Foundation for Art Resources (FAR). The event was held in the college’s abandoned Fine Arts wing and featured installations from hundreds of local artists who transformed over 50 rooms, hallways, exteriors and the central courtyard.Read more

WOMEN'S MARCH 2018 LOS ANGELES RECAP
One year after the first Women’s March on Washington, people across America took to the streets again to stand and march together peacefully for Women’s Rights and Human Rights. With over 500,000 marching in Los Angeles alone, it was a day to remember. It was also incredible to see so many of the iconic We The People posters Shepard created for the Amplifier Foundation being used in the march, including an updated twist to his collaborative piece with Ari Mejorado calling for a renewed Dream Act.Read more

OBEY AT SEOUL ARTS CENTER
OBEY in KOREA. Shepard was one of the seven artists included in “The Great Graffiti“, a new show put on by the Seoul Art Center (SAC).
