Last Friday, 11PM Records, the North American hardcore label presented 'La Vie En Noir' a group show at OBEY ART SPACE Paris with Amy Dorian and Rob Roche, followed by a punk show the next night.Amy Dorian, an artist whose work confronts the tension between structure and chaos, beauty and distortion. Rooted in a punk ethos, her practice explores the aesthetics of rebellion, strength, and vulnerability through a deeply personal visual language.Rob Roche is a scene activist based in Nantes, known for tirelessly creating flyers for punk shows and everything that surrounds them. His graphic work—raw, intuitive, and unapologetically DIY—moves between analog and digital, blending collage, image reappropriation, and illustration.

Rob Roche is active in the punk scene based in Nantes, known for tirelessly creating flyers for punk shows and everything that surrounds them. His graphic work—raw, intuitive, and unapologetically DIY—moves between analog and digital, blending collage, image reappropriation, and illustration. When he's not distorting typographic norms or drawing weird shit, he's running the hobby tape label Urticaria, organizing shows with his local crew Damaged Good, or making noise in bands like Precipice and Ants. Damaged Good is a small DIY collective organizing concerts in Nantes. Precipice is his hardcore punk band, while Ants is a newer project with a pop lo-fi sound.Rob will be taking part of the group show ‘La Vie En Noir’ at OBEY Art Space Paris curated by 11PM Records, a hardcore punk record label based in Richmond Virginia and Toronto Ontario led by Patrick Walsh. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Dutch hip-hop surrealists De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. We've been fans since their first hit song Watskebeurt in 2005, and we're proud to be their official merchandise partner for this milestone year.To kick off the collaboration, we're launching a special collection designed by the renowned independent graphic design studio, Experimental Jetset. This clothing collection is part of a larger visual system that also includes concert posters and a book cover. Last Thursday, Subliminal Projects hosted the launch event and book signing of Glen E. Friedman’s latest book, FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS, featuring iconic photographs of the Bad Brains from 1981 and 1982. Shepard Fairey also released a new limited edition print, in collaboration with Glen.If you weren’t able to make it, we have a limited amount of copies of FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS signed by Glen E. Friedman available.

This season, we collaborated with Oakland-raised, Los Angeles-based multimedia artist Elan Watson. We looked to Elan's lens to blend his skills in photography and videography to capture the feel of Northeast and Downtown Los Angeles during this time of year. His photos and style were meant to compliment the collection with their colors and textures. The collection itself leans into soft, worn-in silhouettes, sun-faded brights, and warm neutrals. She witnessed her hometown's rapid gentrification firsthand. With her mother an immigrant and her father a teacher, she learned early on the necessity of empathy and the empowering nature of education. She remains deeply aware of — and psychologically affected by — how politics and infrastructure, both built and dismantled, shape communities.“Using semiotics — which hold the same power as political rhetoric — I expose major contradictions in mass media and the politics it upholds.Visible throughout my work are the physical and metaphorical chain-link fences so common in lower-class North American landscapes: meant to protect, but also to exclude.Maybe we can cut through to the other side — and maybe the question is whether the other side is even worth it.”FJORSK  Fjorsk (Christian Thomsen) is a Danish artist living and working in Berlin. He studied at the Royal Academy in The Hague and has exhibited internationally in New York, Bucharest, Amsterdam, London, and Berlin.Blending childlike energy, dark humor, and symbolism, Fjorsk's work draws from folklore, fantasy, nursery rhymes, and alchemical imagery. His paintings explore the tension between concealment and revelation — whether through large-scale, blurred airbrushed works or frenetic, gestural brushstrokes. These contrasting techniques create a layered, expressive world where mythical figures and outsider characters confront chaos, existential dread, and transformation.Through distortion and movement, Fjorsk unravels personal and collective mythologies, inviting viewers to find meaning in the space between fantasy and reality.DIMA1994 Dima, born in 1994 in Siberia (Nizhnevartovsk), has called Berlin his home since early childhood. He uses his unique way of looking at the world in every aspect of his work, turning overlooked environmental elements into applications, driven by a fascination with cyclical renewal.His approach to life—finding new perspectives—has evolved into a permanent journey, constantly producing new projects.For this exhibition, Dima collaborated with Tim Sommerfeld, Tilman Haseloff, and Robert Wortmann on a special sculpture made from brass, porcelain, and plastic.“The lamp is a tribute to light. Its luminosity is transmitted into the ground—so intensely that it draws the lampshade downward.This gesture resembles a bow: a quiet sign of reverence for its own source.”ALENA YARISH Born in Crimea, Ukraine, Alena grew up immersed in the untouched beauty of nature. Deeply passionate about painting and drawing from a young age, she completed her studies at an art school in Crimea. After the occupation of the region, Alena moved to Kyiv, where she spent much of her time creating self-portraits — a way of connecting with herself during a period of loneliness and uncertainty.In search of a new beginning, she eventually relocated to Berlin.“The following three years were marked by profound pain and disorientation, as I grappled with a sense of loss and a search for identity. During this time, my work began to reflect the surreal nature of my dreams, as reality no longer offered the solace I once sought.”

Last Friday, OBEY PARIS ART SPACE hosted the opening of Playgrounds, a group exhibition curated by Paulo Iverno. This exhibition is an ode to urbanism. Six Parisian artists get inspired from the city and it's playful architectures to create works for this new show. The theme explores a variety of subjects: childhood memories, urban exploration, play and liberty, in a vibrant and colourful aesthetic. Félicie Vitrai blends technology and imagination, using augmented reality, virtual reality, and digital photomontage to create immersive, playful experiences that blur the line between real and make-believe. Her new paintings feature 3D-printed frames.Thami Nabil (aka Recso Verto) is a Paris-based artist working in video animation. His work distorts time and space, layering movement and sound to create hypnotic visual narratives. For this special occasion Recso will be printing on plexi-glass. Mario Picardo draws inspiration from the urban landscape, layering color and form through airbrush techniques. His work often incorporates pop culture and comic book elements, transforming city life into something vibrant and surreal. Emile Degorce Dumas creates sculptures and installations that blend animist traditions with contemporary Western aesthetics. His works have a dreamlike yet unsettling presence, drawing on absurdity and contradiction to evoke both attraction and discomfort.Clara Cimelli creates highly textured, hyper-saturated works on machine paper—somewhere between dream and nightmare. Her compositions carry a raw energy, merging chaotic, almost violent imagery with exaggerated theatricality. James Dosa, a Paris-based painter, draws from video games, manga, and cartoons to explore the idea of a shared visual language.  For our Spring 25 collection, we collaborated with a talented team, including Amsterdam-based photographer Mette Krah.  Driven by a passion for analogue photography, Mette develops and prints her film work in her own darkroom. Her versatility spans from press shoots to documenting punk bands in concert, bringing a refined touch to gritty settings. With a talent for enhancing contrasts and foreground details, this project marked her first editorial for a fashion label.For this campaign Mette chose to place the collection in a metropolitan setting, juxtaposing the delicate textures and tones of the cut-and-sew with a grittier, perhaps cinematic surrounding. She wanted to showcase the brink of Spring underneath a veil of mystique – bolstered by the unconventional forms of the Belgian backdrops.  The talent that Mette shot in Brussels brought their vibrant energy from the music and skate industries. Mauro Ruberto is an avid skater and a close friend of ours. He has an energetic personality with a deep love for nature and music. Zoe Saidah is an Amsterdam-based DJ with London roots. Performing under the alias SAIDAH, she takes inspiration from the birthplace of garage, where high energy and four to the floor beats take center stage. Zoe aims to open up the UK scene to new audiences with a fresh sound and perspective.  Logan Sharma, a treasured member of our team brought the video to life. Logan brings together his dual passions for filming and skating, combining creativity with dynamic energy. Along with managing the OBEY European website, he’s also deeply involved in skating and creating content for Blobstacle, showcasing his commitment to the skate culture and community.   The music was done by Laurou, a Swiss-Finnish sound artist whose intricate sound design creates interpretative, whimsical spaces. Her practice explores the vastness of virtuality, morphing organic sounds into sculpted microtextural worlds. Deeply rooted in sonic intimacy and profound listening experiences, she performs with live electronics and DJ sets.
