It’s been a long time since I’ve ventured into the depths of my own country. This time I had the honor, and pleasure to rock with my dudes Opio (Souls of Mischief/ Hieroglyphics), DJ Scientific and AaGee. Opio and I just recently started working on some new sounds. Right back to it! Here’s some views from the city and some visuals of the other murals going on around the town. Art Alliance: The Provocateurs opens tomorrow at Block 37 10am – 6pm and it will run from July 31st – Aug 4th.

The crew and I arrived in Chicago three days ago to begin the setup for The Provocateurs art show and to start painting my mural. My mural wall is a killer spot at Wabash and 9th on one of Columbia University’s buildings. 

Downtown Santa Ana’s first ever East End Block party last weekend went off without a hitch! It was great to see such a grand event happening in my own backyard- with the ghetto parrots squawking over our heads and the collaborative sounds of bands and DJ’s that all used to play at The Crosby(RIP), it was a disillusioned dream come true. For 8 hours the OBEY Radio stage kept the corner of 4th & Spurgeon alive, entertaining people as they day drank and perused the sidewalk vendors. So-cal born and bred model Kylie Cusick is one to watch. We caught up with this budding beauty to talk about the ‘gram, mood tunes, and where she goes to get away from it all.

This weekend the biggest summer jam sesh going down in Santa Ana, bringing together all of the homies to play on the OBEY Radio stage and the best part is that its All ages & FREEEEEEEE

Last week, I stopped by my friend Hagop Najarian’s photo show ” Skate City / Lost and Found” at Loma Street Market in Long Beach. 

Growing up in Southern California, Che Cafe was like a second home for a lot of us in the punk/hardcore scene. Che Cafe is an all-ages music venue, located on the UCSD campus, and now they are being threatened to close the doors once and for all. 

The crew and I finished the Peace Tree mural on The Line Hotel yesterday afternoon. I’m very happy with how the mural turned out and how it works with the building’s architecture.

A couple weeks ago, Hennessey and Ingalls Books in Hollywood hosted an artist signing, exhibition and book release of “LOOK AWAY: The Art of Todd Francis” by Seb Carayol and Todd Francis. 

This morning, I headed up to LA to meet up with Shepard and his usual crew, as they started the first of an eight city mural tour. This massive Peace Tree mural is (95′ x 32′) covering the entire eastern wall of The Line hotel. 

 have a few go to icons for style inspiration, but Jane Birkin is a favorite for summer. Jane always manages to make a plain white t-shirt and jeans look effortlessly cool. 

Saw my favorite band at my favorite venue a few weeks back. I’ve seen Thee Oh Sees a handful of times, but this was the first show I’ve been to with the new live touring lineup of Nick Murray on drums and Timothy Hellman on bass.

 As part of their global mission to destroy unsuspecting livers, on Saturday night Monster Children with the help of.. well.. us as presenting sponsor, followed up their Brooklyn release of Issue 43 with a party to end all parties at Sydney’s ‘1346 Venice’ bar.

My dudes from NY, Mint and Serf and their crew have a new book out, Support Therapy and Instability. I’ll be DJing with Blu Jemz and E.B. Sollis for the book presentation and the afterparty. 

After the #SuicaBoyz adventure through Japan, we made our way down through Seoul, Manila, and Bali. Here is just a little taste of the glory..

I recently had the chance to travel to Okinawa, the southernmost prefecture/ island of Japan with beautiful beaches, lush tropical landscapes, and some of the chillest vibes you can experience in this here country.

Wednesday night, the cooly clad crowds descended upon Red Hook, Brooklyn to celebrate the launch of Monster Children‘s 43rd issue guest edited by the inimitable curator of culture, Mike D from the Beastie Boys.

I saw Tomorrows Tulips with Gym Shorts and Habibi last night at Glasslands and I think I’m in love. Their self-described “slightly bummed, slightly happy, slightly outta tune and slightly crafty” music made for a really great show. 

Lefto x Free the Robots teamed up for the Two Snakes on the Plane tour; a one month journey now in progress. It started in Tokyo and proceeded on down to the deep south of Japan.
